Job Title: Azure Data Engineer/ Python Developer

Data Dock is looking for a high-performing Mid to Senior level Python Developer and or Data Engineer to facilitate the operations of our data scientists. The data engineer will be responsible for employing machine learning techniques to create and sustain structures that allow for the analysis of data while remaining familiar with dominant programming and deployment strategies in the field. During various aspects of this process, you should collaborate with coworkers to ensure that your approach meets the needs of each project.
To ensure success as a data engineer, you should be able to design, build, operationalize, secure, and monitor data processing systems with a particular emphasis on security and compliance; scalability and efficiency; reliability and fidelity; and flexibility and portability as well as leverage, deploy, and continuously train pre-existing machine learning models.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Data Engineer Job Responsibilities:

• Develops and maintains scalable data pipelines and builds out new API integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity.
• Collaborates with analytics and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility, and fostering data-driven decision making across the organization.
• Implements processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it.
• Writes unit/integration tests, contributes to engineering wiki, and documents work.
• Performs data analysis required to troubleshoot data related issues and assists in their resolution.
• Works closely with a team of frontend and backend engineers, product managers, and analysts.
• Defines company data assets (data models), spark, spark SQL, and hive SQL jobs to populate data models.
• Designs data integrations and data quality framework.
• Designs and evaluates open source and vendor tools for data lineage.
• Works closely with all business units and engineering teams to develop strategy for long term data platform architecture.
• Confidence to learn new and advance engineering methods on own initiative via research, online training resources, and developer forums

What We Want You to Have
4+ years of Python or Java development experience
4+ years of SQL experience (No-SQL experience is a plus)
4+ years of Azure and open-source data pipelines
4+ years of experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling
Ability in managing and communicating data warehouse plans to internal clients
Experience designing, building, and maintaining data processing systems
Experience working with either a Map Reduce or an MPP system on any size/scale
Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies
Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Process oriented with great documentation skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills with a keen sense of customer service
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems engineering, data engineering, big data analytics, computer engineering, or related field.
Proven experience as a data engineer, software developer, or similar.
Expert proficiency in Python, C++, Java, R, and SQL.
Familiarity with Azure Ecosystem …
