What We’re Looking For:
· Innovative story pitches that highlight the realities of poverty in rural areas
· Strong research and writing skills
· A commitment to journalistic integrity and ethical reporting
· Genuine interest in attracting solutions to the plights of rural communities’ dwellers through creative storytelling.
· Solid writing skill and ability to take good photographs.
· Confident in creating positive relationships

· Enthusiastic and willing to promote the content published on our site and support our mission of attracting solutions to the challenges faced by rural communities’ dwellers.
Primary responsibilities:
· Develop, research, write, and edit news stories, articles, and features on poverty and people in local communities.
· Use photography skills to capture high-quality images and videos that complement and enhance written pieces.
· Fact-check all stories and ensure that all content meets the highest journalistic standards and adheres to ethical guidelines.
· Collaborate with designers and other team members to create compelling multimedia content.
· Engaging with communities’ people to create friendly environments for information sharing.
· Meeting tight deadlines
· Being an effective communicator both in person and electronically via email and social media

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field preferred. Or equal experience to a bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.

Experience:

• Journalism: 2 years (experience in community journalism will be an added advantage).
