Hotel Operations Manager

The Hotel Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of the hotel. This role oversees all operational departments to maintain high standards of service, improve guest satisfaction, and ensure the hotel's profitability. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, operational expertise, and a deep understanding of the local hospitality industry in Nigeria.

Pay: ₦100,000.00 - ₦150,000.00 per month

The Hotel Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of the hotel. This role oversees all operational departments to maintain high standards of service, improve guest satisfaction, and ensure the hotel's profitability. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, operational expertise, and a deep understanding of the local hospitality industry in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of all hotel departments, including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, maintenance, and security.
- Ensure all operational departments adhere to hotel policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with department heads to ensure seamless coordination and problem-solving in operations.
- Ensure compliance with local laws, health and safety regulations, and brand standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of the property to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction by responding to complaints and addressing issues promptly.
- Monitor and improve guest feedback through surveys and review platforms.
- Ensure all guest-facing departments deliver excellent service and handle special requests efficiently.
- Lead initiatives to improve guest experiences, loyalty, and retention.
- Work closely with the HR department to recruit, train, and develop staff across all operational areas.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to department heads and staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to enhance team morale and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and the hotel’s HR policies.
- Assist the General Manager in budget preparation and ensure cost-effective operational strategies.
- Monitor departmental budgets and expenditures, ensuring financial goals are met.
- Analyze operational performance reports, including occupancy rates, F&B revenue, and cost management.
- Implement strategies to increase revenue, reduce costs, and improve overall profitability.
- Manage inventory levels for housekeeping, food and beverage, and other operational supplies.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee stock control processes.
- Ensure that all departments comply with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Oversee the implementation of security protocols to ensure guest and employee safety.
- Coordinate with the maintenance department to ensure all equipment and facilities are functioning properly and meet safety standards.
- Support the sales and marketing team by ensuring operational readiness for promotions, events, and group bookings.
- Assist in planning and executing special events, conferences, and meetings to ensure smooth operations.
- Build relationships with key clients and stakeholders to enhance the hotel’s reputation.
- Report regularly to the General Manager on operational performance, challenges, and areas for improvement.
- Maintain clear and effective communication between departments to ensure smooth hotel operations.
- Prepare reports on occupancy, revenue, guest satisfaction, and staff performance for senior management.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in hospitality management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Proven experience managing multiple departments in a hotel or resort setting.
- Strong knowledge of hospitality industry and market trends.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in hotel management software and MS Office Suite.
