Job Title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Location: Mushin
Position Overview:
The successful candidates will join a dynamic research team to conduct cutting-edge research on maternal and reproductive health with a focus on anaemia prevention and management in pregnant and postpartum women. The research will be conducted across selected health facilities in three states in Nigeria: Lagos, Kaduna, and Ebonyi.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct fieldwork and data collection at study sites.
* Co-design and implement interventions aimed at reducing maternal anaemia.
* Support the development of training materials and lead the training of research study teams across participating facilities in study states.
* Collaborate with healthcare workers, community stakeholders, and policymakers.
* Lead data analysis and interpretation of research findings.
* Contribute to writing manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals.
* Participate in dissemination activities including conferences and stakeholder meetings.
* Contribute to the development of targeted guidelines within the scope of comprehensive anaemia management in Nigeria.
Qualifications:
* Ph D in Maternal and Reproductive Health, Global Health, Public Health, or a related field; OR a Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College or West African College in Public Health, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, or Family Medicine
* Proven track record of research experience, especially in maternal health or anaemia management.
* Strong data analysis skills, including proficiency in statistical software.
* Experience in implementation science or clinical trials will be an added advantage.
* Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Duration and Location:
The initial appointment is for two years, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The position will be based in Lagos, Nigeria, with travel to other research sites as required.
