Job Description
We are looking for a qualified HSE Specialist to become an integral part of our team working on the metro project in Oslo. The successful candidate will contribute to our mission of delivering a safe, efficient, and environmentally conscious transit system. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and regulations at the job site.
As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on one of the most significant public transportation projects in Norway. Your expertise in HSE will aid in safeguarding the welfare of our workforce, aligning with our commitment to operational excellence and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Management: Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and stakeholders involved in the subway project.
Training: Conduct safety training sessions to educate employees on HSE policies, work practices, and emergency procedures, fostering a culture of safety awareness.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable local, national, and international HSE laws and regulations, as well as internal company standards while identifying areas for improvement.
Risk Assessment: Perform regular risk assessments and inspections to identify potential hazards, evaluating risks, and proposing effective mitigation strategies.
Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into any incidents or near-misses, documenting findings, and developing corrective and preventive actions to avoid future occurrences.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all HSE activities, policies, incident reports, and training documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to promote a proactive safety culture and ensure that safety measures are integrated into all project phases.
Reporting: Prepare and submit regular HSE performance reports to senior management, highlighting areas of success, as well as challenges and proposed solutions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Técnico HSE, with significant involvement in large-scale construction or infrastructure projects, preferably in the transport sector.
In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and standards applicable to construction and project management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and recommend solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of leading training sessions and discussions with various stakeholders.
Certification in Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (e.g., ISO 45001), and Environmental Management Systems (e.g., ISO 14001) is an advantage.
Proficiency in English; knowledge of Norwegian is a ,must.
