Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for Project Lead Engineer – Electrical/Power System. You will be part of strong and professional environment working with Technology and Innovation closely connected with renewable energy and anergy storage systems, onshore and offshore. You will contribute to further develop the group working with electrical power generation and distribution in close cooperation with our customers. You will get the opportunity to build your experience by participating in project deliveries, service and in commissioning – always having an experienced colleague to learn from. In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as the technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments. Each day, you will ensure that the activities related to engineering disciplines within the project are executed in an efficient and cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by providing technical support to commissioning and start-up activities. The work model for the role is mainly in office combined with home office and some travelling. This role is contributing to Energy Industries success in Northern Europe and Norway particularly. Main stakeholders are Local Division in Norway, Northern Europe region and global Energy Industries. You will be mainly accountable for: • Acting as a role model in applying design thinking or design for excellence concepts in projects, including modelling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations. • Serving as a specialist in the application of advanced concepts and methods. • Review and advise on the development of concepts and system solutions done by the project/tender team or third party to ensure that the design meets defined design basis and technical requirements. • Participate in system standardization and solution library development. • Leading, supervising, and coordinates teams (5-25 members) in all engineering disciplines (both in-house and outsourced) on projects of medium complexity. • Responsibility for engineering planning and coordination, as well as technical solutions across disciplines. • Collaborating on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, to clarify potential issues or provide solutions to rectify the engineering errors. • Contribute to creating a good working environment and a strong team spirit in the local Division Norway team and globally. • Participant in HSE and quality audits when requested. • Organize and lead discipline and interdisciplinary technical meetings, with focus on system integration and interface coordination. • Participate as technical authority in tenders with solutions, cost and plan, resources, manhours, risk assessment and mitigations. • Mentor new employee’s as well as juniors to develop skills and succeed in their tasks.Qualifications for the role
- You are electrical/power engineer with >10 years’ experience with proven and relevant experience within:
- Electrical plant design of large-scale projects, - conceptual design and detailed design.
- Power system studies and analysis of electrical power distribution and generation systems
- Electrical systems design for studies - from feasibility, concept and FEED. Comprising; Philosophies, strategies, topologies, SLDs protection and control and system descriptions.
- Prototype Product development and qualification
- Control and protection applications of low voltage, medium voltage and high voltage systems.
- Deep knowledge of electrical design and qualification processes according to relevant international standards such as IEC, IEEE, API, ISO, NORSOK, ISO and the EU commission.
- Relevant bachelor or Master`s degree in electrical engineering, design and construction within process and renewable energy production or oil and gas.
- Proven track record in conceptual and detailed engineering for large-scale projects.
- Strong understanding and ability to collaborate with other engineering and non-engineering teams.
- Have a demonstrated track record in several relevant fields.
- Experience with site fabrication and commissioning lead to completion of work and hand over to customer.
- Fluent in English, written and spoken. Communicating in Norwegian is an advantage.
