We seek to strengthen our team of highly skilled buyers in fabrication procurement as we ramp up for high activity in the market in the time ahead. The packages you will be working on are big in both complexity and value, so your work will have a massive focus and importance for the company. You are required to work well under pressure and cooperate with multiple stakeholders in an international environment with highly capable and professional coworkers.
Job Description
Job scope:
Responsible for large fabrication packages within different projects. This includes procurement planning, cost forecasting, negotiations with suppliers, contract drafting and delivery follow-up. Your main task is to make sure that the fabricated items are in place in due time for offshore installation. You will have high focus in the project and get to work on important and complex packages. You will need to manage the packages internally and externally to deliver the structures in time, with excellent quality, within project budget.

Reporting lines and interactions:
- Functionally reports to: Procurement Manager, Norway Projects
- Operationally reports to: Project Manager
- Key interactions (internally): Project Manager, Procurement Manager, Category buyers, Engineering, Cost Control, Logistics. Key interactions (externally): Subcontractors / Suppliers, project Client.
Main Accountabilities
- Responsible for inquiries, bid clarification process, tender evaluation and selection of subcontractors
- Good understanding of fabrication procurement cost drivers, and ability to explain and give advice for decision making
- Negotiation and follow-up of the procurement activities with the subcontractors
- Writing subcontracts and be on top of the technical, commercial and contractual scope
- Subcontract administration, including reporting, invoice management, schedule- scope and cost change management, certificate handling and close-out formalization
- Keeping POs updated at all times in ERP-system
- Ensuring that all goods and services required are in place for vessel offshore operations Liase with category procurement. The position can be asked to assist on performing sourcing and category work
You are meant for this job if:
- Minimum 4 years higher education within relevant areas like engineering, contracts, procurement, logistics or economics. Master’s Degree is preferred. Work experience can compensate for lack of education.
- Minimum 4 years’ relevant experience in e.g. Supply Chain, SURF projects, contracts, engineering or economics
- Good verbal and written English
- Ability to cope with stress and high workload
- Flexibility
- Commercial mindset and proven negotiation skills. Always seek the optimal solution
- Self-driven, good at analyzing a task, and planning required sub-tasks
- Ability to take initiative and at execute in accordance with plan
- Excellent communication and team player skills
Nice to have:
- Knowledge within subsea branch fabrication procurement and subcontract management
- Knowledge of the Norwegian language
- Knowledge on Category and Project procurement in large complex company organizations
