Job Description:
In our HPC & AI Business Unit, we focus on cutting edge, high-performance, high-scale customer solutions serving a wide range of industries and end-users. HPE’s HPC team heritage is built from the best elements of HPE, SGI and Cray and we built a state-of-the-art HPC Service delivery team to support our HPC customers.
We are currently looking for a self-motivated, technically competent individual with computer maintenance skills to become a Senior HPC Technology Consultant and expand our team in Northern Europe.
As a Senior HPC Technology Consultant, you will provide Hardware and Software support on High Performance Computing systems for prestigious current and new customers. You will be part of a virtual team to deliver reactive and proactive services associated with the contracts for customers. You will also be involved in new installations, so you will be able to build solid system knowledge and customer relationships.
Required training will be provided along with mentoring from colleagues to enable the successful candidate to provide the level of support required.

Responsibilities:
You will have the responsibility of a set of customers in the Northern Europe region and will work with the HPC Service delivery team to ensure that HPE fulfils its contractual commitments and ensure high-customer satisfaction. In more details:

Work as part of a dedicated team to deliver support and consultancy on advanced HPC hardware and software technologies.

Maintain meticulous records of interactions, actions and outcomes within the case management systems and HPE processes

Ensure compliance with customer rules for change management controls.

Possess excellent customer interpersonal and relationship building skills.
-
Provide a professional and positive approach to the customer in the execution of all duties.

Follow technical escalation procedures to ensure critical issues receive maximum focus.

Occasionally work as part of a wider team to provide support to other customers within EMEA.
Education and Experience required:
-
Educated to degree level, or equivalent, in a computer science or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience of HPC and Linux Systems.
Knowledge and Skills:
-
An in-depth knowledge of Linux and ability to perform hardware repairs are mandatory requirements
-
Strong script writing skills on platforms such as Python, Bash.
-
Patching and securing Linux and dealing with system vulnerabilities.

Possess an analytical approach to problem solving and be fully committed to driving issues to conclusion.

Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are required.
The knowledge of local language (Norwegian) would be considered a plus.

An ability to stay calm and professional under pressure while working to strict deadlines is essential.

The candidate should be flexible and be able to travel when required.

Possess excellent customer interpersonal and relationship building skills.

Provide a professional and positive approach to the customer in the execution of all duties.

Cluster management software
-
Job Schedulers (SLURM).

High-speed networks (Infiniband, Slingshot).

Parallel filesystems (Lustre).

Kubernetes experience.
