ROLE OVERVIEW
Trintech empowers accounting & finance teams with technology to simplify and streamline their reconciliation and close processes. Our VP of Software Engineering (Norway) will lead the engineering team in Oslo, driving strategic initiatives and overseeing all engineering teams. This role requires extensive experience with Azure cloud services and Azure Dev Ops tools, as well as a strong technical background in software development. In addition - ensure the architectural integrity and quality of Trintech’s software products, promote best practices in cloud infrastructure management, and drive innovation within the team. Effective leadership and communication skills are essential to align engineering efforts with business objectives and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement the engineering strategy in alignment with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
- Lead and inspire the engineering team to achieve high performance and innovation.
- Participate in the company's strategic planning and contribute to business development initiatives.
- Oversee all engineering teams, including development, QA, UI/UX, and outsourcing management.
- Recruit, retain, and develop top engineering talent.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the architectural integrity and quality of the company's software products.
- Promote the adoption of best practices in software development, including the use of modern frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
- Drive initiatives to reduce technical debt and improve system performance, scalability, and security.
- Oversee the implementation and management of Azure cloud services across the engineering organization.
- Ensure the effective use of Azure Dev Ops tools for CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated testing.
- Advocate for best practices in cloud infrastructure management, including scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
- Manage the engineering budget and resources effectively.
- Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the performance and progress of engineering projects.
- Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software products.
- Work closely with Product Management, Sales, and other departments to ensure alignment on product development priorities and timelines.
- Represent the engineering team in executive meetings and report on the status of engineering projects.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between engineering and other parts of the organization.
- Drive innovation within the engineering team to maintain the company’s competitive edge.
- Explore and implement new technologies and processes to enhance the company's software offerings.
- Support the CTO in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of leading large, diverse engineering teams to successful project delivery.
- Strong technical background and understanding of modern software development practices and technologies.
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Experience with managing budgets and resources effectively.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in managing Azure cloud services and Azure Dev Ops tools.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
- Experience with Dev Ops practices and tools.
