Duties and responsibilities

Create great guest experiences through outstanding service

Tell the story of the Norwegian coast, local communities, food and drink and about Hurtigruten as a destination
-
Sales within your restaurant and be a driving force for additional sales of all offers on board
Perform assigned tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures for hotel operations on board and the ship's operations and safety management systems

Have 2 years of documented work experience as a waiter/waitress with good references
-
Have previously worked with wine/beer/spirits, and have basic knowledge of this

Have a high level of service and a strong guest focus so that guests meet their expectations

Can present, recommend and serve food and drink in a professionally correct manner

Get to know the concept and make sure that storytelling about the products is a continuous feature when serving

Flexible – if needed, you must also be able to contribute with other tasks within the hotel
- Living within the EU. If living outside the EU, working permission for Norway is required. Hurtigruten set high demands for safety on board, which means that all employees must have; Basic safety course for seafarers, Crowd and Crisis Management course, and approved health certificate from authorized seafarer doctor. There is no requirement to have completed the courses before applying, but you must be willing to take them, and please note that the individual must pay for the courses themselves

Good knowledge of German and English, advantage of Scandinavian language

Has a certificate of apprenticeship as a waiter/waitress
Have other relevant courses and education in the field of food and beverage
