Bar Manager

We are looking for a bar manager who will help develop exciting cocktails and drink menus inspired by the fantastic Norwegian coast, a skilled bartender with management experience.

Duties and responsibilities
As a bar manager, you are responsible for the bar and will create unforgettable experiences for the bar's guests together with your team, and help put the bars on the map of Norway.

Your main duties include
  • Quality assurance of service to our guests and product
  • Contribute to the development of bar chart and menu together with F&B manager on board and the group's F&B manager
  • Personnel responsibility for bar crew, including training, guidance, and development
  • Preparing the bar for service
  • Know the alcohol law and act in accordance with it
  • Responsible for ensuring that recipes, menus and concepts are followed
  • Ordering goods in cooperation with the warehouse manager
  • Hold courses for guests and crew on board
Qualifications/Experience
  • You are a skilled manager and it is desirable with previous experience as a bar manager or similar role
  • Work experience from Fine Dining
  • Basic experience working as a bartender
  • Minimum 3 years experience with a focus on cocktails
  • You are creative and passionate about storytelling through cocktails
  • The position requires you to be able to communicate well in English
  • Scandinavian language is an advantage
  • German and/or French language is a desire
  • Hurtigruten set high demands for safety on board, which means that all employees must have; Basic safety STCW A-V/1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, Crowd and Crisis Management, and approved health certificate from authorized seafarer doctor. There is no requirement to have completed the courses before applying, but you must be willing to take them, and please note that the individual must pay for the courses themselves
