Chief Accountant - Oman Experience

Job Title: Chief Accountant Department: Finance & Accounting Reports To: Financial Controller / Chief Financial Officer (CFO)Key Responsibilities
Pay: RO1,200.000 - RO1,500.000 per month
- Financial Reporting
- Prepare and present accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure timely submission of periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual).
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide recommendations to senior management.
- Compliance and Auditing
- Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and ensure timely submission of tax returns.
- Team Management
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and training.
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting activities performed by the team.
- Establish and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets.
- Develop financial models to support decision-making and long-term planning.
- Identify variances between actual and budgeted results and propose corrective actions.
- Cash Flow and Treasury Management
- Monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable to optimize working capital.
- Liaise with banks and financial institutions for funding or other financial needs.
- Systems and Process Improvement
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems (e.g., ERP software).
- Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and procedures to increase efficiency.
- Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA (preferred).
- Experience
- 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Technical Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of local tax regulations and international accounting standards.
- Key Competencies

- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
Pay: RO1,200.000 - RO1,500.000 per month
