Program Description (Background)
The increasing impact of climate change on water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) systems necessitates the integration of climate resilience into WASH programming. District-level stakeholders, including government officials, NGOs, and community leaders, play a critical role in ensuring the sustainability and effectiveness of WASH interventions. This training aims to enhance their capacity to incorporate climate resilience into WASH practices.
Scope of Work (SOW)
Objective
The primary objective of this training is to equip district-level stakeholders with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to integrate climate resilience into WASH programs, ensuring the sustainability and effectiveness of WASH interventions in the face of climate change.
Scope of Work
1. Training Content Development
  • Research & Review: Review existing materials on climate-resilient WASH practices, climate change impacts on WASH systems, and relevant case studies.
  • Curriculum Design: Develop a comprehensive training curriculum, including objectives, session plans, learning outcomes, and supporting materials (e.g., presentations, handouts, and case studies).
  • Customization: Tailor the content to the local context, considering the specific climate challenges, WASH conditions, and stakeholder needs of the target district.
Training Delivery
  • Facilitation: Lead the one-day training session, using interactive and participatory methods to engage participants, including group discussions, case study analyses, and practical exercises.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ensure active participation from all stakeholders, addressing their concerns, questions, and suggestions throughout the training.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Conduct pre- and post-training assessments to gauge participants’ understanding and gather feedback to refine future training sessions.
3. Reporting
  • Training Report: Prepare a detailed training report, including an overview of the training process, participant feedback, assessment results, and recommendations for future capacity-building initiatives.
  • Documentation: Provide all training materials, including presentations, handouts, and any other resources used during the training.
4. Deliverables
  • Training Curriculum: A finalized one-day training curriculum on climate-resilient WASH for district-level stakeholders.
  • Training Session: Successful delivery of the one-day training session, with active engagement and participation from stakeholders.
  • Training Report: A comprehensive training report, including assessment results, participant feedback, and recommendations for future capacity-building efforts.
  • Training Materials: All materials used during the training, including presentations, handouts, and case studies.
