Search for Justice is a child-focused civil society organization dedicated to protecting children and adolescents from all forms of violence, abuse, and exploitation. The organization adopts a multidimensional approach that includes policy engagement, capacity building, networking, and providing essential services to children in vulnerable situations.
About the Role
Search for Justice is seeking an experiences and qualified individual to manage a donor-funded project in Lahore aimed at protecting children and young people. The specific roles and responsibilities for the candidate are outlined below.
Key Responsibilities:
This role is responsible and accountable for but not limited to the following:
(Management and Supervision
- Overall management of the Protection and Learning Centre, including the supervision of project staff to ensure effective program implementation and adherence to project timelines.
- Support and guidance to field staff and other project team members, enabling them to perform their roles efficiently and achieve project targets through regular monitoring and performance evaluations.
- Facilitate capacity-building activities for staff and community members to enhance their understanding of child protection and social support initiatives.
- Assist local community members by providing information and support on the processes and requirements of government social protection programs, including helping them access available resources.
- Identify and select young people for vocational skills training, ensuring they meet program criteria and facilitating their continuous engagement.
Networking & Reporting
- Prepare progress reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual) in line with reporting guidelines, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
- Develop presentations and briefs highlighting project achievements, to be shared with stakeholders, including government officials, partners, and donors.
- Coordinate, network, and build partnerships with government departments, civil society organizations (CSOs), and other relevant stakeholders to establish and strengthen referral mechanisms for enhanced support to children and young people.
- Maintain regular communication with partners and stakeholders to facilitate collaboration, share updates, and address challenges in a timely manner.
- Maintain an organized record of all beneficiaries at the center, ensuring that data is up-to-date, accurate, and accessible for reporting and evaluation purposes.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with beneficiaries to monitor progress and address any emerging needs.
- Ensure confidentiality and data protection standards are met in managing beneficiary records and personal information.
- Minimum 16 years of education from a recognized university in Social Sciences, Psychology, Mass Communication, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience working with both community members and policy-level stakeholders, with a demonstrated ability to engage effectively across different levels.
- Strong understanding of child-related issues and the ability to address them through community-based initiatives and policy-level programs.
- Report writing: Ability to prepare detailed and accurate progress reports, presentations, and project documentation.
- Strong communication skills: Ability to convey information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, including community members, stakeholders, and team members, both verbally and in writing.
- Problem-solving skills: Ability to assess challenges, identify solutions, and implement effective strategies to overcome obstacles and achieve project goals.
- Community engagement: Skilled in interacting with community members, understanding their needs, and mobilizing resources effectively.
- Team building and management: Proven experience in leading teams, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative working environment.
- Training and capacity building: Competence in organizing and delivering training sessions for staff and community members to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Networking and partnership development: Ability to establish and maintain relationships with government departments, CSOs, and other stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel: Availability to travel within the community, city, and other cities as needed for project-related tasks.
- Cultural sensitivity: Familiarity with the social and cultural norms of local communities, ensuring that project activities are culturally appropriate and respectful.
