About this opportunity:
Manages the Angel Tree Program; recruits, trains, coordinates the work of volunteers ensuring ample staff to meet Christmas program needs; prepares records and reports for the Christmas program. Works in the Christmas center; lifts, carries, loads and unloads variety of donations that may include furniture, appliances, clothing, etc.
Key responsibilities:
· Interviews, recruits, screens and selects volunteers for the Christmas Angel Tree Program.
· Answers all telephone calls in a polite and courteous manner, obtaining answers from appropriate personnel if answer is not known.
· Distribute donations to their proper place as instructed in the warehouse.
· Unloads the truck at the Christmas warehouse.
· Assist with angel tree pick-ups from the drop-off locations.
What we are looking for in you:
· High School diploma or G.E.D. AND
· Two years’ experience working in an office environment OR
· Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Must have physical strength adequate to carry and unload materials from truck and in warehouse. Job requires considerable physical effort and may entail some pressure and fatigue. Duties are usually performed seated; however, work at the Christmas Distribution Center will require walking, standing, lifting and carrying.Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Work requires working in a warehouse environment with exposure to fluctuating temperatures and discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
