Overview
We are seeking a dedicated ER Nurse to join our healthcare team at our partner hospital Kiowa County Hospital District.
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:
- A registered nurse (RN) License in the US or Canada.
- Current Colorado Registered Nurse Licensure. ( Flint Healthcare will assist is transferring your license to Colorado ).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Preferred.
- One to two years’ related experience and/or training preferred.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Within 1 year of hire, obtain and maintain current certifications in ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC and NIHSS.
Unit: Emergency
Position Type: Emergency Registered Nurse / ER RN
Schedule: Days and Night shifts available, full time hours - 36 hours a week, rotating weekends.
Shifts: 12 hour shift options available.
Compensation:
Base Pay Range:USD $29 - $45.56 / hr based on work experience
Pay Differentials by shift:
Night Shift Differential - $3.00/hr
Charge Nurse Differential - $1.00/hr
Premium pay (double time) for full and part time employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- PATIENT AND FAMILY CENTERED CARE
- Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records and clinical data. Evaluates patient’s response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome.
- Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including but not limited to IV’s, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization and specimen collections.
- Promote, advocate and collaborate to protect the health and safety and rights of each patient.
- Provide patient/family education through assessment of patient/family learning readiness, needs, and ability. Provide teaching and evaluate effectiveness of teaching.
- Recognize the patient or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for the patient’s preferences, values, and needs.
- Provide relationship-based care in which the nurse strives to understand what is most important to the individual and actively engage them in all aspects of care. This care will be delivered with respect for cultural differences and the diversity of human experience.
At Kiowa County Hospital District (the “Hospital”), the RN must be willing to serve in the following roles:
1. Charge nurse: Assumes the leadership role for the shift in which he or she is assigned. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) coordinating patient/staff assignments, serving as a resource to patients, families and staff and providing direct care to emergency department patients, inpatients, outpatients and skilled swing bed patients.
2. Swing bed south direct care nurse: Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) assuming primary care of all non-skilled swing bed patients, overseeing the care provided by certified nurse aide’s, and assisting the charge nurse as needed in the emergency department.
3. Float nurse: In this role, the RN must be flexible and adapt to the changing needs of the Hospital. At times, the float nurse may be assigned to direct care of a patient or group of patients, at other times the float nurse may float back and forth between the emergency department, acute care and swing bed areas assisting all staff and patients as needed.
