Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The primary responsibility will be to operate an excavator proficiently, with a focus on trench digging for various construction and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of operating heavy machinery, understanding excavation techniques, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
· Operate excavators to dig trenches, foundations, and perform other excavation tasks according to project specifications.
· Interpret blueprints, plans, and job specifications to execute precise digging.
· Ensure proper sloping, grading, and trench depth.
· Conduct routine checks and maintenance of the excavator to ensure safe and efficient operation.
· Adhere to safety protocols, including wearing necessary PPE and following OSHA regulations.
· Collaborate with the site supervisor and other team members to ensure timely completion of tasks.
· Identify and report any safety hazards, machine malfunctions, or potential risks to the supervisor.
· Load and unload materials as needed for site operations.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area.
· Follow all local, state, and federal regulations regarding trench safety, depth, and stability.
Requirements:
· Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator, specifically with excavators.
· Ability to operate various types of excavators (small to large) efficiently.
· Knowledge of trenching techniques and safety regulations.
· Familiarity with construction blueprints and excavation plans.
· Valid driver's license (CDL preferred) and the ability to transport machinery to job sites if required.
· Certifications such as NCCER, OSHA 10 or 30, or other heavy equipment training preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
