Position Summary: Responsible for performing clerical related to health services, including appointment scheduling a variety of clerical and administrative duties which require extreme discretion in compliance with American Correctional Association (ACA) standards, Management & Training Corporation (MTC), Florida Department of Corrections (FDOC) and Florida Department of Management Services (DMS) directives.
Essential Functions:

• Type correspondence reports and letters. Proofread to verify accuracy.
• Maintain appropriate medical and dental supplies as well as office supplies
• Log and distribute incoming mail, prepare outgoing mail, answer telephone and convey messages.
• Schedule appointments for the Physician, Dentist, Mental Health Specialist.
• Maintain log for medical restrictions.
• Maintain patient records and filles; observe applicable policies HIPAA laws.
• Check medical equipment and purchasing as per requirements.
• Respond to queries of providers for inmate patient needs.
• Maintain accountability of inmates and property while in medical unit, while adhering to safety practices.

Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent, one year varied and responsible clerical experience required, Academic training in medical technology preferred. A valid driver’s license in the state of Florida with an acceptable driving record is required, unless waived by management.
