Definition
The Preschool Substitute Teacher will provide support teaching services for a childcare center. Children have ages ranging from 2 to 5 years. The Preschool Substitute Teacher creates and maintains a respectful classroom culture that fosters a healthy, safe, and productive learning environment. Preschool Substitute Teacher executes classroom lesson plans and interacts with children and families to ensure whole child development. The Preschool Substitute Teacher follows all childcare center policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
ü Helps supervisor plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum, activities, and events for program year.
ü Provides continues supervision of children in day-to-day activities as a preschool substitute teacher; ensures health and safety of children.
ü Maintains preschool program rooms and play areas in a clean, orderly, and safe manner; sets up rooms and areas for various activities with assessment and child development profiles.
ü Maintain open communication and a positive relationship with other staff, parents, teachers, and other school personnel.
ü Completes accident or incident reports when appropriate, according to policies.
ü Appropriately communicate concerns or issues with immediate supervisor as they arise.
ü Performs first aid as necessary.
ü Performs additional duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications/Requirements
ü Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior.
ü Ability to interact and communicate with others effectively (written and verbal).
ü Ability to interact positively with the general public.
ü Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth with a knowledge of age-appropriate enrichment activities.
ü High School Diploma or equivalent.
ü (Preferred) Bachelor’s degree in teaching
ü (Preferred) Bilingual in Spanish
ü Completion of twelve (12) units of Early Childhood Education (ECE) courses (core classes) preferred but not required.
ü (Preferred) Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications. Ability to perform CPR and First Aide techniques.
ü (Preferred) A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role.
ü No required license.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $13.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 16 per week
Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• No weekends
• On call
• Weekends & holidays off

• Panama City, FL 32401: Relocate before starting work (Required)
