Definition
An Bilingual Teacher will be responsible to teaches students based on national curriculum guidelines within their specialist subject areas. Their duties include assigning homework, grading tests, documenting progress, and keeping up with parent communication. They communicate and evaluate needs to ensure every student feels challenged but not overwhelmed by the material being covered. Also, the teacher have to do after school care or homework hour (from 2:30pm to 4:30pm).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Presenting lessons in a comprehensive manner and using visual/audio means to facilitate learning.
  • Create and distribute educational content (notes, summaries, assignments, etc.).
  • Assess and record students’ progress and provide grades and feedback.
  • Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, parents and stakeholders and participate in regular meetings.
  • Plan and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities and events.
  • Observe and understand students’ behavior and psyche and report suspicions of neglect, abuse, etc.
  • Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending seminars, conferences, etc.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
  • Develops schemes of work, lesson plans and tests that are in accordance with established procedures.
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
  • Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
  • Provide appropriate feedback on work.
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
  • Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies and school regulations.
  • Prepare required reports on students and activities.
  • Participate in departments, school, district, and parent meetings.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Prepare the classroom for class activities.
  • Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
  • Observe and evaluate student's performance and development.
  • Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments.
  • Establishing and enforcing rules of behavior for students in the classroom.
  • Adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of students.
  • Encouraging students to explore learning opportunities and career paths.
  • Creating, assigning, and grading various assessments for students, including tests, quizzes, essays, and projects
  • Working with students one-on-one when they need extra help or attention.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with students, parents, coworkers and supervisors.
  • Managing student behavior.
  • Creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Communicating regularly with parents.
  • Helping students improve study methods and habits.

  • Design and deliver engaging lessons, content, and materials, in line with standard curriculums and teaching standards.
  • Vary learning mediums (for example: digital, visual, learning through action) in order to account for differences in learning preferences.
  • Provide a safe, enriching, engaging environment for students to learn and feel supported.
  • Conduct baseline assessments and follow up with formal and informal assessments to gauge learners’ progress.
  • Evaluate student progress and prepare reports for parents and other members of staff.
  • Mark students’ work, assessments, and tests, providing grades or notes for improvement and ensuring positives are emphasized to encourage learning.
  • Communicating with learners, other teaching staff, and parents and caregivers.
  • Manage student behavior with behavior management plans, keep records of behavior, and monitor progress and signposting to necessary services.
  • Keep up to date with essential policies and standards, including child protection and safeguarding.
  • Participate in continued professional development through internal and external courses, seminars, conferences, and events.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, inspire, and engage learners.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
Education Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in teaching or in specialized subjects with a certificate in education.
  • Meet professional teacher education requirements of school, district, and state.
  • Bilingual Spanish is preferred.
Experience Required:
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • CPR training annually
License(s) Required:
  • Florida State certification in teaching in the appropriate subject area.
Work Environment/Physical Demands (Must be performed with or without reasonable accommodations):
