Location: Panama City, FL (Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division - NSWC PCD)

Contract Duration: 1 Year, with options for three 6-month extensions.
Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistance Services (PAS) Provider to support a quadriplegic employee at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD). The PAS provider will assist with daily living activities, primarily focused on feeding and light cleanup during meal periods. This role involves both onsite assistance at NSWC PCD and offsite support during telework days at the employee’s home in Panama City Beach, FL.
Key Responsibilities:

• Meal Preparation and Feeding: Warm and serve food, cut food into manageable portions, and assist with feeding in a gentle and patient manner. Ensure the temperature of food is appropriate, check for choking hazards, and provide assistance with drinks.
• Personal Care: Wipe the individual’s mouth and hands after meals, help maintain cleanliness, and ensure the use of appropriate utensils and aids during mealtimes.
• Cleanup and Disposal: Dispose of paper goods, uneaten food, and clean utensils or containers used during the meal.
• Assistance Coordination: Provide feeding assistance at the following times:
  • Onsite: Mondays and Tuesdays, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at NSWC PCD, Panama City, FL.
  • Offsite (Telework): Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the individual’s residence in Panama City Beach, FL.

Qualifications:

• Experience in providing personal assistance or caregiving, particularly for individuals with physical disabilities.
• Ability to handle sensitive tasks with patience, respect, and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow specific instructions for feeding, including temperature checks, meal preparation, and assisting with utensils.
• Must be reliable and available during the required working hours as specified above.

Equipment Provided:

• Feeding utensils, paper/plastic cups.
• Comfortable chair (for provider and/or employee).
• Serving table.

Work Environment:

• Onsite work at NSWC PCD, Monday and Tuesday.
• Offsite work at the employee’s home during telework days (Wednesday – Friday).

Security:

• This position requires the PAS provider to have access to government facilities under supervision. Appropriate security measures and access clearance will be facilitated by the contracting officer.
