As a Solid Works Designer, you will work with a cross-functional team of engineers, program managers and manufacturing professionals to design and develop parts, assemblies and sheet metal products to meet our customer’s specific branding needs. You must work well on a team and have the ability to manage and adapt to unexpected project changes.
Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and develop drawings/ models to meet customer specifications.
• Must complete every item on the Engineering Checklist prior to sending drawings to the production floor.
• Be actively looking for better ways to design products, including removing unnecessary complexity without sacrificing structural integrity.
• Create Bill of Materials (BOM) for new non-stock items.
• Develop the overall layout and production design for various applications
• Create & Revise drawings needed for building Channel Letters, Pylon/ Monument signs for use by the Fast Food/ Restaurant, Financial, Hospitality and Petroleum Industries.
• Prepare engineering product drawings of new products showing dimensions, tolerances, welding symbols, special notes and bill of materials.
• Knowledge of internal and external sign illumination, methods of construction and types of sign support a plus.
• Work with cross-functional teams to complete projects on time.
• Comply will all safety policies & procedures.
• Ability to effectively manage time, meet deadlines and work within a budget.
• Quick and effective diagnosis of routine problems in their manufacturing step.

Requirements

• 3+ years of Solid Works sheet metal experience.
• Solid Works certification
• Must have the ability to create animations in Solid Works to aid in creating installation materials
• Understanding of large equipment/ machinery (CNCs, bending machines, etc.) and their abilities.
• Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Willing to be hands-on and work with shop personnel.
• Work directly with Automation and other manufacturing departments to fix/ change any issues found during the manufacturing process.
• Creative and positive attitude.
• Mechanical aptitude and good math skills.
• A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
• Demonstrated problem solving skills and effective communication skills both written and verbal.
• Training is available for candidates with a basic knowledge of tools and an ability to work well with written or verbal directions.
