Accounting Assistant

Position Overview:
As an Accounting Assistant at Achieve Without Borders Inc., you will assume a pivotal role within our accounting department, providing essential support through various administrative and clerical tasks. This position offers a unique opportunity for hands-on experience in accounting, laying the foundation for a successful career journey.
Responsibilities:
  • Execute monthly bank reconciliation to ensure financial reconciliation.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive table of accounts, proficiently allocating entries to their respective categories.
  • Demonstrate expertise in accounting practices by meticulously preparing, checking, and analyzing all accounting records.
  • Manage petty cash with precision, showcasing financial acumen.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and critical documents as part of the financial reporting process.
  • Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Efficiently process vendor payments and employee expense reimbursements.
  • Contribute to month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate accounting records and files.
  • Collaborate with vendors, clients, and other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies or issues.
  • Provide support to the accounting team through participation in ad-hoc projects and tasks, showcasing flexibility.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and procedures.
  • Support in preparing monthly and annual financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with BIR regulations and assist with tax return submissions (VAT, withholding taxes, and income tax).
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s/College Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated eagerness to learn and excel in the field of accounting.
  • Preferred background in handling accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, financial reporting in a similar company, demonstrating versatile skills.
  • Basic understanding of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS)/ Philippine Accounting Standards (PAS)
  • Proficiency in MS Office or GSuite applications, especially Excel/Spreadsheets.
  • Familiarity with accounting software, preferably Odoo, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with colleagues across departments.
