Cashier (School Canteen)

Job Summary:
The School Canteen Cashier is responsible for managing the financial transactions within the school canteen, providing excellent customer service, and supporting the efficient operation of the food service area. This role involves handling cash, operating the cash register (POS) , and ensuring the accuracy of sales transactions, as well as maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Transactions:
  • Operate the cash register to process student, staff, and visitor purchases.
  • Accurately handle transactions.
  • Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift, reporting any discrepancies to the Coordinator.
  • Customer Service:
  • Greet students, staff, and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Assist students in selecting food and beverages, as needed.
  • Answer questions about menu items, prices, and specials.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Track inventory of food and drink items as they are sold.
  • Report low stock levels to the Coordinator to ensure timely restocking.
  • Assist with inventory checks and restocking items as directed.
  • Record Keeping:
  • Keep accurate records of daily sales and transactions for financial reporting.
  • Assist with the preparation of daily sales summaries and cash reconciliation at the end of each shift.
  • Food Handling and Hygiene:
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the cash register area and surrounding areas.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Monitor the condition of food displays, ensuring freshness and proper storage.
  • Support Team Operations:
  • Collaborate with the kitchen and food prep staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Help with basic food preparation or delivery of items to customers when needed.
  • Support the Canteen Manager with other tasks, as required.
  • General Duties:
  • Adhere to school policies and procedures regarding food safety and customer service.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and wear any required uniform.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak hours such as lunch breaks.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • At least 6 months of cashiering experience
  • Friendly, polite, and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to operate a point-of-sale (POS) system.
Working Hours:
  • Monday - Saturdays (6AM-3PM) or (7AM-4PM) or (8AM-5PM)
LOCATION:
O.B. MONTESSORI CENTER, STA. ANA - 2241 Pedro Gil St. Sta. Ana, Manila

IMPORTANT NOTE:
1) QUALIFIED APPLICANTS WILL BE TRAINED IN OUR CAMPUS IN GREENHILLS, SAN JUAN CITY FOR 1 MONTH BEFORE BEING ASSIGNED TO STA. ANA CAMPUS.

2) QUALIFIED APPLICANTS WILL BE ENDORSED TO OUR PARTNER MANPOWER AGENCY
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From Php665.00 per day

Ability to commute/relocate:
  • Manila: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
