The Cashier/Receptionist will be the first point of contact for customers at the diner, ensuring a welcoming and organized atmosphere while handling transactions efficiently. This role involves providing information about the diner’s services, managing reservations, and processing payments.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome customers as they enter the diner.
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements.
- Provide accurate information about the menu, specials, and promotions.
- Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions.
- Process customer orders and provide accurate pricing information.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve issues.
- Assist in coordinating with the waitstaff and kitchen team for smooth service.
- Help restock retail items near the cashier station as needed.
- Previous experience in customer service, receptionist, or cashier roles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong numerical and math skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Organizational skills.
- Hourly wage plus service charge and tips.
