North Star Meat Merchants Inc., a leading vendor and supplier of fresh and frozen pork and beef products nationwide, is seeking a dedicated Human Resource Specialist to join our team. This role is critical in supporting the company’s mission of providing high-quality, safe, and affordable meats to every Filipino by fostering a productive and engaged workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment & Onboarding

• Oversee end-to-end recruitment processes to attract and hire top talent across all levels, including job posting, screening, interviewing, and background checks.
• Conduct onboarding programs for new hires, ensuring they are well-integrated into the company and understand North Star’s mission, values, and culture.

2. Employee Relations

• Serve as a key point of contact for employee concerns and grievances, ensuring prompt resolution while maintaining a positive working environment.
• Foster a culture of open communication and collaboration across all departments.

3. Training & Development

• Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and performance in alignment with the company’s growth and operational goals.
• Conduct regular training sessions focused on soft skills, company policies, safety standards, and job-specific technical skills.

4. Performance Management

• Manage the company’s performance appraisal system, ensuring timely and constructive feedback for employees.
• Work closely with managers to implement performance improvement plans and support employees’ career development.

5. Compliance & Policies

• Ensure compliance with local labor laws, occupational safety standards, and company policies across all operations.
• Regularly update and maintain HR policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and industry best practices.

6. Compensation & Benefits

• Administer employee compensation, benefits, and rewards programs, ensuring they are competitive and in line with industry standards.
• Monitor attendance and leave records, and manage payroll inputs and employee benefits inquiries.

7. HR Data Management & Reporting

• Maintain accurate employee records, ensuring confidentiality and security of HR-related information.
• Generate HR reports and analyze workforce metrics to support decision-making and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Ideally 2-3 years of experience in human resource management, preferably in the food or retail industries.
• Strong knowledge of Philippine labor laws and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
