For over two years, Preferred by Nature has been collaborating with food companies and farmers in Poland, where intensive agricultural activities cause a serious risk of soil degradation and groundwater contamination. In collaboration with various public and private entities, Preferred by Nature is committed to promote regenerative agriculture practices and to restore natural habitats to promote biodiversity and foster more sustainable management of land and water resources.

Area of work: Wielkopolska or adjacent region
Job Type: Consultancy work with around 30-40 hours a month
Contract timeframe: 1 year (renewable)

Tasks:
Coordinated by Preferred by Nature representative in Poland, and in close collaboration with Regenerative Agriculture Program Manager and Lead Agronomist, the Consultant will be responsible for providing technical assistance to farms, participating or intending to participate in the Programs. In particular, the Consultant will be in charge of:

Providing timely technical assistance to farms and processors in the elaboration of the proposals and action plans to be submitted to program funders, in line with program objectives and methods;
Ensure timely technical assistance and overall oversee the measures implementation in line with the Program guidelines;
Carry on field verification of the implemented measures at farm level;
In close collaboration with the project consortium, provide support to develop and manage Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) strategy;
Provide support to MRV service provider field work (data collection and verification work);
Participate in stakeholder meetings at local and national level in person and/or from remote as agreed;
Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

Farming experience
Agricultural engineer's degree or similar
Self-employed - Consultant
Technical knowledge of arable crops and supply chains
Advanced user of Word, Excel and One Drive
Good knowledge of the GIS would be a plus
Proficiency in Polish and good command of English is a plus
Driving license and equipped with own vehicle
Ability to work in a dynamic and creative team
Personal characteristics: proactivity, curiosity, desire to grow professionally
Based in Wielkopolska or adjacent region
