Program Summary
KBR leads the government services world contingency market by providing responsive, full-service logistics support to forces deployed around the world under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract (LOGCAP). KBR’s enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates back to 1992 when we served as the contract’s original prime contractor. Today, we have a workforce of over 6,000 people representing 40 nationalities who perform work on the contract in 10 countries.
Job Summary
As a Master Mechanic, you will supervise maintenance personnel and oversee the repair and upkeep of mechanical equipment, including automotive, hydraulic, gasoline, and diesel-powered vehicles. In this role you will focus on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and overhauling systems to ensure operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include following U.S. Army maintenance standards (DA PAM 750-8, AR 750-1) and safely handling hazardous materials.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct the activities of maintenance personnel, ensuring efficient completion of tasks and adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on a variety of mechanical equipment, including vehicles powered by gasoline and diesel. Expertise is required in hydraulic systems and automotive technologies.
- Handle routine checks, inspections, component repairs, and replacements as part of Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS), ensuring operational readiness of all mechanical systems.
- Utilize technical manuals, work orders, and diagnostic tools to perform precise maintenance operations, ensuring that unscheduled repairs are handled promptly.
- Ensure the safe usage, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials according to regulatory guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 4 years of relevant experience.
- Must have demonstrated experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and overhauling various mechanical systems, particularly automotive, hydraulic, and gasoline/diesel-powered vehicles.
- Army Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with U.S. Army maintenance standards (DA PAM 750-8, AR 750-1) is required for handling equipment in compliance with military regulations.
- Work Instruction & Manuals: Ability to follow detailed technical manuals and work orders for both routine and complex repairs.
- Requires a valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages.
Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- Advanced certifications in mechanical or automotive repair, emphasizing expertise in modern diagnostic tools and repair techniques.
- Proven leadership abilities in a maintenance or mechanical role, showing the capacity to manage a team effectively.
- Understanding of safety regulations and best practices for maintaining equipment, especially in high-pressure or challenging work environments.
