Senior Hardware Dev Engineer, Ring PD team

  • BS/MS in Mechanical/Optical Engineering
  • Extensive industry design experience
  • Experience in consumer electronics products development, plastic / diecast / sheet metal parts design
  • Experience with optical-related designs like camera lens implementation, illumination and etc.
  • Experience with thermodynamics, especially for consumer or computer hardware.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes for metals and the commonly used plastics
  • Quick prototyping skills
  • GD&T based on ISO or ASME standard.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experienced CAD user (Creo/Solid Works )
  • Experienced PLM system user
  • Good written and spoken English
We are looking for a talented and motivated Senior Product Design Engineer (BS minimum) to develop new products together with the Ring Product Design team. A successful candidate must show a strong analytical and communication skills, ready to drive, analyze and dive deep into all sections of HW design. Experience in designing consumer electronics products is required. Has to be comfortable to explore the variety of concepts and deal with ambiguity during development.

Key job responsibilities
  • Generate concepts and mechanical designs of new products with ID team
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Partner with PM teams on product requirements
  • Manage and drive vendors for project finalization
  • Generate functional prototypes and to be hands on it
  • Clearly and concisely express and document ideas, issues, test results, etc.
  • Develop documentation to transfer to vendors (CAD, detailed drawings, optical simulations, and etc.).
Ability to interpret simulation results, such as thermal, optical & deformation analysis
