DRAWLINES ENGINEERING CONSULTANT is looking for Civil Engineer in Doha, Qatar
Years of experience: 3-4 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in fit outs or renovation projects.
Project Site Location: Wakra
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
Skills:

• Arabic speaking
• Strong understanding of structural engineering principles.
• Proficiency in engineering software (Auto CAD, STAAD Pro, Revit, etc.).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with building codes, safety standards, and permit processes.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Structural Assessment:

• Review and assess interior design plans to ensure they align with the building’s structural capacity.
• Evaluate load-bearing walls, beams, columns, and other structural elements to ensure design feasibility.

2. Collaboration with Design Teams:

• Work closely with interior designers to ensure that structural modifications complement the aesthetic and functional design vision.
• Provide technical input on construction materials, layouts, and space reconfiguration.
• Recommend structural alternatives where necessary without compromising the design intent.

3. Site Inspections and Supervision:

• Conduct site visits to assess the feasibility of proposed design changes.
• Monitor construction or renovation activities to ensure adherence to engineering and design plans.
• Ensure that any structural changes made during the interior design process maintain the building’s safety and durability.

4. Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure that all modifications comply with local building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
• Prepare documentation and reports required for permit approvals and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify any potential structural issues arising from interior design modifications.

5. Project Coordination:

• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to integrate engineering solutions with design and construction efforts.
• Review and approve materials for structural compatibility and performance.
• Assist in resolving on-site technical challenges that may arise during the renovation process.

6. Material Selection and Testing:

• Provide recommendations for structural materials that suit both the design and safety needs of the project.
• Ensure that selected materials for interior modifications (e.g., partitions, ceilings, and flooring) are structurally sound.

7. Cost and Time Management:

• Prepare engineering cost estimates related to structural work, ensuring alignment with the project’s budget.
• Assist in scheduling construction phases, ensuring that structural changes are completed within agreed timelines.
