Conducts routine inspection of all General Lab Equipment in the QU lab facilities, research facilities, Bio-Medical lab facilities, health science & other all lab facilities under QU.
To make sure operation and maintenance plan implementation of lab equipment including preparation of Technical reports for action. Attending to Oracle System Work Requests (site inspection and evaluation) & follow up work request until completion assign task

• Draft work orders and obtain work request, together with action plans and diagrams from supervisor, review work and arrange for the necessary materials, tools and equipment to complete the task.
• To ensure availability of materials and follow-up to ensure satisfactory completion. Participate in the diagnosis of faults.
• Inspect and test completed work to ensure that it has been carried out in accordance with requirements and that equipment performs satisfactorily, prior to handing back to operating section.
• Install, maintain or repair, on site or in the workshop, a variety of electronic & microprocessor lab instrumentation.
• Evaluates and inspects a specific work to be done upon the receipt of Work Request generated by the Oracle System, including also some letter requests and/or verbal directives / requests from various operating departments of Qatar University.
• Test and calibrate repaired electronic & lab instruments. Issue comprehensive daily activity reports outlining the cause of the fault, the nature of the work and the materials, labor and time taken to complete the task.
• Ensure that all tools and test equipment are kept in a clean and serviceable condition. To ensure adherence to HSE Standards and Guidelines in all areas of their work.
• Advises Supervisor of spare parts and materials requirements. Ensures that all maintenance activities are conducted within Company standing instructions and procedures as per industry practice.
• Ensure that all the relevant facilities master data and related maintenance related information is updated in QU’s asset/facilities management system in an accurate and timely manner
• Ensure that QU’s security and safety guidelines are followed and assist the Head of Security and Safety in preparing reports for any security and/or safety incidents
• Maintain confidentiality of information at all times
• Perform other job duties as necessary and assigned by the Engineer or is authorized representative.

Experience and Education:

• Minimum 2-years Technical Certificate (Electronics, Instrument or Bio-Medical) OR 3-years Diploma Electronics/Instrumentation (Minimum 3 years academic-full time) in a recognized university or Technical Institute/college.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the field of University lab environment or Hospital lab equipment operation and maintenance experience in university or a construction services/ Facility management organization
