The doctor/specialist possesses empathy in determining the best care plan for patients suffering from physical birth defects, injuries, genetic deformities, trauma, etc. The surgeon is also responsible for the reconstruction of facial features, re-shaping or correcting any external body part to improve the patient’s bodily functions or appearance and so live a better quality of life. The specialist thoroughly discusses the associated risks of the procedure(s) to come up with viable solution(s) for the health issues at hand and successfully easing the patient’s anxieties. The specialist is highly skilled in complex reconstructive surgical techniques and maintains steady hands while working under pressure. Competency in plastic surgery implies a special combination of advanced knowledge, surgical judgment, technical expertise, ethics, and interpersonal skills in order to achieve satisfactory patient relationships and problem resolution. Areas of expertise include, but not limited to prosthesis preparation, skin grafting, flap surgery, tissue expansion, transplants / replantation, as well as in the area of cosmetic surgery such as body contouring, liposuction, face, breast, and butt lifts, tummy tuck, breast augmentation and reduction, etc.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leading the development, execution and communication of Zadie Clinic’s Vision-Mission and Objectives/Values.
Establishes and maintains professional standards for quality patient care; Provides outpatient and inpatient medical consultation in specialized areas of knowledge.
Performs consultations with patients to discuss surgical treatment options, recovery timeframe, the risks and benefits of procedures in detail.
Having previous experience in setting up private aesthetic and cosmetic clinic would be an added advantage.
Performs preliminary tests to determine the patient’s over-all physical health as well as his/her mental and emotional state of mind.
Determines whether a patient is a good candidate for plastic surgery based on factors such as age, health status, underlying health issues, genetic predisposition, etc.
Performs various surgical procedures using modern and state-of-the-art tools and machine while adhering to the stringent guidelines, policies, and regulations set by the Ministry of Public Health and other governing bodies under the State of Qatar.
Provides post-operative care to patients, including checking surgical sites for signs of infection or other complications.
Makes a thorough documentation about the patient’s history, treatments or procedures done, medications given, side effects (if any), over-all experience, post-operative instructions, after-care activities, etc.
Responsible in his/her continuous education in by attending various skills enhancing seminars, learning new surgical techniques, keeping abreast with the new technology, studying new and relevant cases from medical journals.
Makes appropriate referrals to advanced specialist.
Acts in a positive and professional manner, displays empathy, complying with practice policies, regulations, and state laws.
Participates in the development of medical protocols, standard procedures, and management of patient-care-related activities.
Promotes health education in conjunction with other health professionals.
Takes part in marketing events, writes medical articles as needed.
Collaborates with the Medical Director and other medical team members to initiate improvement in clinical operation and administration.
Executes other tasks assigned by the Executive Management.
REQUIREMENTS:
Preferably has five (5)+ years of clinical experience or practice
A medical degree from an accredited medical school with completed specialization in Plastic Surgery
Must have experience in cosmetic procedures (liposuction, breast augmentation, body contouring, face, breast and body lifts, transplants, etc.) and other surgical reconstructive procedures
Must have extensive experience in cosmetic and aesthetic treatments with high patient satisfaction in the private sector.
Ability to work in a multi-culture, multi-discipline environment
REQUIRED LICENSE:
Licensed Physician, Specialist, Fellow, or Consultant as a Plastic Surgeon – mandatory / essential
Active DHP License as a physician, an advantage
Certificates on sub-specialization in Plastic Surgery (if any)
Eligibility requirements to apply for DHP license: Prometric Exam, Data Flow, original educational documents (attested), Good Standing Certificate, Certificates of Employment, Police Clearance from home country (attested), other documents required by DHP for licensing (Essential)
Valid and recognized CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) Course; or BLS/ILS Certification (Essential)
