Duties for Scientific Diver at the ESC:
Scientific lead for turtle conservation and monitoring project, which includes:
Communication of data requirements and scientific protocols to multiple survey teams.
Standardization of data collected from multiple survey teams.
Compiling data and findings from statistical analyses into regular reports to be. submitted to project funders and government partners.
Communicate project data, results and findings to stake holders, which includes government partners and project funders.
Being responsible for producing scientific publications from our turtle monitoring and conservation project.
Work closely with department management to ensure smooth and efficient running of the project.
Provide diving support to other department research activities, this includes:
Deployment and retrieval of marine monitoring equipment (ex: ADCP RCM’s).
Assist with the field work in a coral relocation project by participating in regular coral outplanting and monitoring expeditions.
Regular offshore trips on the departments research vessel.
Assist other research sampling activities that may involve diving, for example, coastal water sediment collection etc.
Outside of these responsibilities the successful candidate can pursue their own research interests with the expectation to produce scientific publications.

Qualifications
- Professional level diving qualification, equivalent to PADI divemaster level
- Master degree holder in a marine biology related field
- Ability to lead scientific publications from ideation phase, through experimental design, data collection, statistical analysis, manuscript writing and publication through rigorous peer review
Required Documents Academic:
- Current Curriculum Vitae with Cover letter.
- Teaching,research, and service philosophy.
- Three referees’ contact information (physical and email addresses as well their telephones contact).
- Copy of highest earned credential (transcript of highest degree if graduated from an institution where course work was completed.However, if no course work was completed,an copy of certificate letter from the registrar of your highest credential granting institution regarding your highest academic degree).
- Any additional documentation that you feel is relevant to your application.
- A three-year renewable contract.
