What we’re looking for

RAN Security expert in charge with the definition of the security strategy of evolutions of RAN (including open and cloud RAN) and thus guarantee to the Orange countries the good orientations for their future challenges.

What you’ll be doing

On behalf of ORANGE, you co-chair the Security Working Group (WG) of the O-RAN Alliance, where open RAN specifications are drafted. The WG is responsible for defining the requirements and specifying the architectures and protocols for security and privacy in O-RAN systems. It collects the security requirements and solutions from all other WGs, negotiate as necessary to ensure uniform requirements and designs among the relevant WGs, thereby allowing a standardized security architecture.
The WG specifies security requirements, architectures and frameworks in support of the open interfaces defined by other O-RAN WGs. This includes security guidelines that span across the entire O-RAN architecture.
The co-chairs are the leaders of all efforts towards delivering the WG targets, such as specifications or other deliverables. Co-chairs drive the discussion within the WG, aiming at achieving consensus among the participating companies, or initiate a vote in case consensus is not reachable. Co-chairs provide guidance to new-coming companies as to what, where and how to do to get involved. Co-chairs are expected to be active and act in best interest of the WG to achieve its targets.

What you need to know/have

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a related field such as computer science, engineering, telecommunications, or cybersecurity.
Several years of experience in technical roles, such as network engineer or network architect, with a focus on RAN solutions.
Experience with 5G technologies and Open/Cloud RAN is highly desirable.
In-depth knowledge of RAN technologies, including LTE, 5G NR, and Open RAN architectures.
Proficiency in network security principles and practices, including encryption, authentication, and access control.
Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and ENISA recommendations.
Experience with virtualization technologies and cloud computing as they relate to telecom networks.
