Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a skilled and passionate Design Manager with expertise in heritage design to join our team. As a Design Manager (heritage), you will play a key role in preserving and enhancing the cultural heritage of our projects. In this role, you will lead and manage the design process for heritage preservation and restoration projects. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, historians, and other stakeholders to ensure that designs are sensitive to the historical significance of the site while meeting modern standards of functionality and sustainability. Your exceptional design and project management skills will contribute to the successful execution of heritage projects that inspire and educate visitors.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead and manage the design process for heritage preservation and restoration projects
  
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop design strategies that balance historical significance, functionality, and sustainability
  
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, codes, and standards for heritage preservation
  
• Oversee the production of architectural drawings, specifications, and tender documents
  
• Conduct site inspections and assessments to identify and address conservation and restoration needs
  
• Select and coordinate with external consultants, contractors, and specialists as required
  
• Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in heritage preservation and restoration
  
• Manage the Fit-Out execution for a large-scale mixed-use project.
  
• Site based primarily.
  
• Maintains first-level quality assurance to confirm that the installation of all work within his/her discipline is in accordance with the plans, specifications, and industry standards.
  
• Supervises the construction engineering work and provide technical expertise for one or more of the construction engineering disciplines, as well as survey personnel.
  
• Supervises Construction Inspectors, ensuring that tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented in accordance with approved procedures.
  
• Monitors and coordinates all contractors' activities for assigned area.
  
• Collaborates with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees.
  
• Ensures that personnel of the assigned group engage in safe work practices in compliance with site-specific safety procedures and industry standards.
  

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction-related field, ideally architect or interior design or equivalent construction-related work experience, as well as 15+ years of experience in field construction is required.
  
• A strong foundation in interior design principles, techniques, and best practices is crucial, this includes understanding space planning, color theory, materials and finishes, furniture selection, lighting design, and ergonomics.
  
• Proficiency in design software tools such as Auto CAD, Sketch Up, or Revit is also beneficial.
  
• Effective project management skills are essential for overseeing interior design projects from start to finish. This entails the ability to develop project plans, create and manage budgets, set timelines, coordinate resources, and ensure adherence to project milestones. Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills are vital for successful project execution.
  
• Must possess leadership qualities to effectively lead a team of designers and other professionals.
  
• They need to provide clear direction, delegate tasks, motivate team members, and foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
  
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills are essential for effective team management.
  
• Should have a solid understanding of technical aspects relevant to interior design projects.
  
• This includes knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance and safety.
  
• Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and specifications is important for effective collaboration with architects, contractors, and other professionals.
