Major Responsibilities:
Corporate
- Responsible for the selection, Supervisors and retention of planning engineers and enforce policies & procedures to improve overall effectiveness of the projects
- Provide inputs to Human Resources on succession planning, employee career growth, and organizational structure
- Manage the development of KSA national employees across the function to support corporate and project objectives, Saudization targets and lead the knowledge dissemination culture to ensure optimal building of internal capabilities and maximize their performance
- Manage and conduct the affairs of the planning team in projects with the highest standards of respect, integrity, accountability, agility, quality, safety and corporate governance
- Ensure compliance with Code of Ethics policy and adopting company values across function’ employees and provide leadership to reinforce a strong people culture and ethical business practices
- Enhance adoption and utilization of systems and ERP
- Manage day-to-day responsibilities of the project planning team in accordance with business plans within the company’s policies and procedures and meeting the approved budget
- Align with relevant key stakeholders (internal and external) and regularly report status to Director – Planning
- Develop baseline schedules for projects
- Identify risks and recommend or direct corrective measure and intervene if required in coordination with Project Manager / Director
- Prepare baseline scheduling and schedule revisions, identifying the scope as per the contract
- Develop schedule of deliverables in accordance with project execution plans and ensure timely execution
- Identify and report risks to Director - Planning
- Highlight project Areas of concern to Top Management
- Ensure Planning resources are assigned to the project with a proper handover
- Oversee projects’ technical submission status and schedules
- Manage time responsibility among client, contractor and third party and support Contracts & Commercial function in the claim process
- Manage the preparation of Revised Schedules and Extension of Time (Eo T) Claims preparations, minimizing the changes of concurrent delays and maximizing changes of compensable Eo T and schedule impact analysis
- Lead the preparation of schedule-related reports and ensure the correct scope of work is reflected in assigned schedules
- Ensure that revisions to project construction schedule are timely circulated to all relevant functions and service providers, clearly highlighting any modification to their delivery schedules
- Ensure 30 days and 90 days look ahead are developed on projects per site
- Assign work, provide instructions, and evaluate the performance of professional and technical staff who are responsible in carrying out all Planning Division activities and programs
- Review overall project status with the Project Management team and recommend corrective action where necessary
- Provide continuous on-site support to the project staff and clarify details pertaining to the work plan
- Ensure clear understanding of timeframes as per the contract and resolve any related conflicts
- Empower the project's staff with tools and methods for project completion within the predefined timeframe as per the schedule
- Develop and manage the projects planning team’s Key Performance Indicators and ensure regular reporting by utilizing the dashboards
- Manage all orders and deliveries for external processes, prepare reports for management and manage demand and supply of all materials
- Perform other duties related to the job as assigned by the Planning Director.
- Bachelor of Engineering, Civil or relevant degree related to project management and/or construction is required.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant planning experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
- Project management experience in the development and/or construction of multiple large scale and complex civil and infrastructure projects
- Regional work experience and knowledge of the local culture is an added benefit
- Well-versed in identifying and mitigating project risks.
- Capable of predicting project cost to complete and abiding to budgeted project plan.
- Provides Proficient level of business advisory in planning for construction projects
- Advanced knowledge of scheduling and planning along with project management skills
