AVP, Business Continuity Manager

As a Business Continuity Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the organization's resilience in the face of potential disruptions, such as natural disasters, cyber-attacks, or other emergencies. By developing robust business continuity plans and procedures, you will contribute to the organization's ability to maintain essential operations, minimize downtime, and recover swiftly from any adverse events.
How you succeed
- Conduct thorough risk assessments: Regularly assess and evaluate potential risks and vulnerabilities that could impact the organization's operations. This includes identifying potential threats, analyzing their potential impact, and prioritizing mitigation efforts.
- Develop comprehensive business continuity plans: Create robust and comprehensive business continuity plans that address various scenarios and potential disruptions. Ensure that these plans are regularly reviewed, updated, and tested to ensure their effectiveness.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate: Regularly monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of business continuity plans and procedures.
- You’ll ensure alignment and integration across business units and subsidiaries through a robust BCM programme.
- Provide guidance on conducting Business Impact Analysis and recovery strategy planning.
- Validate adequacy of Business Continuity Plans and recovery responses through comprehensive testing and exercise.
- Impart BCM knowledge and awareness through regular training sessions.
- Participate and provide oversight of business units recovery progress in crisis management exercise.
- Review and analyse internal, external and system dependencies in partnership with the business units to determine adequate recovery responses for critical business services.

Who you are
- A professional who possesses a business continuity certification with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a BCM related role in a financial institution.
- An excellent communicator with interpersonal skills who enjoys collaboration and can develop and maintain effective working relationships.
- A resourceful and a team player who works well in a diverse team and environment.
- An individual who can work independently, analytical and inquisitive as a risk manager.
- An established policy developer with good written skills in policy writing.
- A well-informed practitioner who has a good understanding of industrial BCM standards and relevant local regulatory requirements.
- Analytical, inquisitive, tenacious. You’re a results-driven self-starter, an adept problem solver with strong quantitative skills and comfortable in communications with senior management.
