About the Role
SPH Media’s Content Lab is looking for a Business Planning Manager to optimise and grow our thriving content marketing business. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with content marketing, ability to strategise, identify, and execute business best practices, and should preferably have strong experience in writing and presenting.
Experience in the PR and digital / social marketing industry is highly preferred.
In this role, you will be responsible for improving the positioning of Content Lab in the industry by identifying strategic opportunities and executing them. This includes brokering partnerships with other industry leaders and working extensively with the rest of the commercial team and our communications department.
This role requires a keen understanding of the larger marketing industry across Singapore, and strong planning and communication skills. Must play well with others.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Associate Director of Content Marketing in business planning strategy for Content Lab.
- Translate strategy into action to achieve performance and growth for the team.
- Lead partnerships with other content marketing players in the industry
- Identify strategic opportunities in the industry, including speaking opportunities etc. and execute them
- Identify appropriate industry awards for Content Lab and create the citations for submission
- Collaborate with the wider Marketing and Media Solutions group and the rest of SPH Media to amplify our work
- Identify new business opportunities for Content Lab
- Develop actionable business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with the wider business
- 8 years (minimum) in relevant industry experience with at least 5 years in public relations, marketing, editorial, or business development.
- Clear understanding of how content is created across formats and media platforms. Experience in managing content creation on more than two media platforms (digital, print, television, radio, etc) is mandatory.
- Experience working with sales and marketing teams for a local market. Regional experience is a plus.
- An exceptional presenter: Must be able to adapt information to different sets of target audience.
- Excellent English-language verbal and written skills. Proficiency in Chinese, Malay or Tamil is a bonus.
- Strong understanding of industry and consumer trends, especially in the government, banking, and financial sectors.
- Experience in turning data and analytics into strategy and action.
- Familiarity with SPH Media’s news titles and lifestyle media brands is essential
- Pro-active self-starter who enjoys a collaborative process. Must play well with others.
