Our client, a large construction materials company with origins in North Asia, is seeking a Market Expansion Lead to plan and execute their global expansion of a building construction management software. With the construction industry rapidly digitalizing through technologies such as BIM (Building Information Modeling), there is a pressing need to transition from traditional, analog methods to digital solutions. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the international growth of digital solutions for the construction sector, working closely with key stakeholders, including large contractors, construction companies, and materials manufacturers.
This position reports directly to one of the company’s C-suite executives.

Key Responsibilities
1. Market Research and Strategic Planning for Global Expansion

• Conduct comprehensive market research
• Develop strategies for expanding into international markets
• Design scalable business models
• Create detailed schedules and action plans for implementation

2. Project Management for Strategy Execution

• Manage timelines and action items to ensure smooth implementation
• Establish partnerships with local companies and institutions
• Develop a local operational framework to support market entry

3. Business Development and Partnership

• Drive BD and Partnership activities
• Oversee Profit & Loss (P&L) of local operations
• Implement internal controls and monitor performance

Key Requirements
As the lead for overseas expansion, the ideal candidate must possess robust experience in international business development and strategic management skills as outlined below:

1. Experience in International Business Strategy and Implementation

• Proven experience in planning and executing business strategies in Singapore ( a bonus would be experience in market expansion to the US/EU)
• Background in enterprise or consulting is favourable

2. Project Management

• Skilled in project management, especially in managing teams of 5 or more members
• Experience in project completion through effective resource and schedule management

3. Industry Background

• Experience in building construction site management is ideal; however, our client is open to candidates with adjacent industry backgrounds, such as infrastructure, manufacturing, or real estate development.

4. Language Proficiency

• Native-level English proficiency is required
• Proficiency in Japanese is a bonus but not mandatory

5. Business and Analytical Skills

• Strong logical thinking and analytical skills
• High level of communication skills for effective discussions and stakeholder engagement
• Ability to document and organize issues methodically
• High motivation to drive new business initiatives with enthusiasm
