SQL Database Administrator Need Singapore Resident

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled SQL Database Support Engineer to maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot our database systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with SQL databases, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to provide technical support to ensure the reliability and performance of our database infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Management:
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize SQL databases to ensure maximum performance and availability.
- Implement and maintain database security, including backups, access control, and disaster recovery plans.
- Perform regular database health checks, tuning, and capacity planning.
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical support for database-related issues, including troubleshooting performance problems, resolving data integrity issues, and managing incidents.
- Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database changes, upgrades, and optimizations.
- Assist with the deployment and configuration of database systems and related software.
- Scripting and Automation:
- Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine database tasks, such as backups, monitoring, and performance tuning.
- Create and maintain documentation for database processes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Compliance and Security:
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to database management, including data privacy and security policies.
- Implement and monitor database security protocols to protect against unauthorized access and vulnerabilities.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and network engineers, to support and optimize database operations.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on database performance, issues, and solutions.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in SQL database administration, support, or a related role.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server, My SQL, or other relational database management systems.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL and database management tools.
- Experience with database monitoring and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery techniques.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Power Shell, Python, or Bash.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
- Knowledge of No SQL databases and data warehousing solutions.
- Certification in database management or related areas (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, Oracle Certified Professional).
