Overview of MSIM Institutional Distribution in Southeast Asia & Hong Kong
MSIM Institutional Distribution for Southeast Asia & Hong Kong leads all sales activities for public and private markets in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong. The team is responsible for leading and driving all capital raising activities across products and strategies for MSIM. The team works closely with the Investment Teams, Product Specialists, and Senior Management to plan and execute fundraising campaigns as well as provide coverage and maintenance of existing clients.
Highlights & Key Responsibilities
The Southeast Asia & Hong Kong Institutional Sales Team is seeking a thoughtful, articulate, results-oriented, and collaborative professional who can manage people as well as multiple capital raising campaigns from start to finish, with a focus on Public & Private Markets distribution. Responsibilities include:
- Execute on numerous alternative investment capital raising strategies working directly with the Head of Institutional Distribution for SEA & HK.
- Work in close partnership with the Product Specialists, Institutional Sales and the Investment Teams to develop prospect lists and execute on a client by client engagement strategy
- Work in partnership with the Institutional Sales Team to cultivate client leads and facilitate relationship building and client engagement for public and private markets strategies.
- Develop client engagement content to facilitate both on and “off-cycle” sales efforts across all MSIM public and private markets strategies. These include, Equities and Fixed Income strategies across Developed and Emerging Markets; as well as Private Equity, Private Credit, Infrastructure, Real Estate, and Renewable Energy.
- Work in close partnership with the consultant relations team to triangulate consultant / client relationships for public and private markets distribution.
- Develop a post-close analysis and “off-cycle” marketing plan for each capital raise
- Develop and automate the monitoring of client engagement and capital raising reports across products through all capital raising cycles
- Own and manage the distribution requirements for all offering and marketing materials, including coordination with the Compliance team to ensure appropriate processes are being followed across the various jurisdictions.
- 8-10 years experience in financial services, preferably with strategy / distribution experience in an institutional setting including public and private markets capital raising.
- Relationships with the key institutional allocators for public markets funds in SEA including Sovereign Wealth Funds, Insurance Companies, Banks, Endowments, and Family Offices. Connectivity across the organization including relationships (or engagement experience) at senior, mid, and junior levels.
- Proven experience in working with large institutional investors in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Hong Kong (or some combination thereof).
- Strong understanding of the public and private markets strategies and investor networks, along with experience in executing on capital raising strategies.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills, team-oriented and collaborative; management experience preferred.
- Ability to work well under pressure including a proven ability to multi-task and re-prioritize on as required by the business. Dedication to growing MSIM’s institutional sales business by increasing market share and wallet share.
- Self-starter with “can-do” attitude and approach. Takes ownership of every project and executes to a successful outcome.
