Job Purpose

Provincial Treasury, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to provide corporate communication services to the department. This post is stationed at Cape Town, CBD.

Minimum Requirements

An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalentor higher qualification) in Communications, Public relations or related field; A minimum of 1 year relevant experience; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence.
NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.

Recommendation

Experience in the following: Graphic design using Adobe Creative Suite (In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator), Mailchimp and Canvas; Digital and social media; Photography; Web content management and systems as Drupal.

Key Performance Areas

Develop, monitor and enhance the department’s corporate identity and brand; Design and implement communication campaigns and products; Coordinate and report on website analytics and social media campaigns; Provide a media liaison and events management service.

Competencies

Knowledge of the following: Applicable policies, legislation, guidelines, standards, procedures and best practices; Public service procedures; Implementing communication policy and strategies; Global, regional, local, economic and social affairs impacting the citizen and the Western Cape Government; Skills needed: Proven computer literacy; Written and verbal communication; Social management; Graphic design.

Remuneration

R 376 413 per annum (Salary level 8)
Note on remuneration: Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.

Notes

Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. These candidates will be required to do a practical and attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests.
