Job Summary
The IT & Cyber Security Coordinator is tasked with developing and implementing security solutions to safeguard CBN's systems, networks, and data. This position emphasizes operational strategies to reduce the risk of security incidents and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The Coordinator is to work closely with both internal and external IT teams, overseeing access reviews, conducting security audits, and contributing to the ongoing enhancement of our security framework. Additionally, the role involves providing technical support, managing network infrastructure, administering IT systems, and leading cybersecurity efforts for the Regional Technical Centre (RTC) in Africa. This role combines system administration, network management, technical support, and web development responsibilities. The ideal candidate will excel in maintaining IT systems, creating secure, user-friendly websites, and upholding our organisation's Christian values and principles. Main Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership & Management Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the appropriation of operational tasks related to Information Security department's strategic plans, security initiatives, and tools to disseminate to other operational staff.
- Ensure documentation and training for staff members to ensure adequate operational coverage in terms of approved processes, procedures, and tool usage.
- Conduct scheduled reviews and meetings for key applications, operating systems, and network infrastructure/platform security settings.
- Derive actionable tasks from policies provided by the security manager into enforceable configuration standards and ensure they are applied through routine audits.
- Participate and collaborate with internal and external IT groups for security design, implementation, and peer review.
- Ensure compliance with POPIA and PAIA regulations and develop data protection policies accordingly.
- Review and suggest improvements for toolset features and policy enhancements to enhance security posture.
- Develop KPIs and Critical Success Factors to evaluate the operational success of security endeavours.
- Coordinate and perform access reviews for critical applications and server administrator access.
- Ensure devices are configured against known security hardening standards during implementation.
- Enforce policies, procedures, and associated plans for system security administration and user system access based on industry-standard best practices.
- Assist in managing administration of all computer security systems and their associated software.
- Update and manage data risk registers.
- Assist with the acquisition, implementation, and operation of new security systems, equipment, software, and technologies.
- Provide Technical Support: Offer timely and effective technical support to employees and stakeholders, troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
- Network Management: Maintain and monitor the organisations network infrastructure, ensuring smooth connectivity, and optimizing network performance.
- System Administration: Administer and manage servers, databases, and other IT systems to ensure their reliability, security, and performance.
- Cybersecurity: Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to safeguard the organisations data and systems against potential threats, including malware and cyberattacks.
- Hardware and Software Procurement: Research and recommend appropriate hardware and software solutions and coordinate the procurement process.
- Data Backup and Recovery: Establish and manage a reliable data backup and recovery system to protect critical information and ensure business continuity.
- IT Training and Capacity Building: Conduct IT training sessions for CBN staff to enhance their digital skills and ensure effective use of technology.
- Website Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and updates of the CBN SA website, ensuring it remains up-to-date, secure, and user-friendly.
- IT Policies and Documentation: Develop and update IT policies, procedures, and documentation to guide the organization in its IT practices and compliance.
- Technology Planning: Collaborate with management to develop IT strategies and plans that align with the organization's goals and budget constraints.
- Vendor Management: Liaise with IT vendors and service providers to ensure efficient service delivery and value for money.
- IT Asset Management: Track and manage IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, and subscriptions, to optimize utilization and budgeting.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly monitor IT systems and prepare reports on performance, security, and compliance metrics for management review.
- IT and Cyber Sercurity Project Management: Oversee and lead IT and Cyber Sercurity projects, ensuring successful implementation within budget and timeline constraints.
- Stay Abreast of Technology Trends: Stay updated on the latest IT trends and developments to suggest innovative solutions for the organization's technology needs.
- Additional duties as assigned by Director / Finance and HR Manager
CBN and Superbook Website Management and Compliance
- Website Management: Oversee the maintenance and updates of the CBN SA website, ensuring it remains up-to-date, secure, and user-friendly.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to IT security and data protection.
- Collaborate with the Superbook Project manager and Communications and Marketing manager to maintain the website operations and compliance.
- Build and promote a positive and inclusive team culture within the IT department.
- Encourage open communication, creativity, and a passion for the mission among team members.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Act as a role model for upholding CBN South Africa's values and ethics in all aspects of the project management process.
- Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and collaborative projects to foster a cohesive creative environment and share best practices.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the organisation's Christian ethos, values, and mission.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
