Durban University of Technology (DUT) is located on the warm east coast of South Africa. It sprawls over seven (7) campuses in tropical and picturesque Durban, and in Pietermaritzburg, with its undulating hills that flow over from the Drakensberg Mountain.

DEPARTMENT OF FINANCIAL AID/STUDENT HOUSING AND RESIDENCE LIFE
IT SPECIALIST (REF.: FA14)

Qualifications Required:

• Minimum: NQF 7 level in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related IT degree.

Experience and Expertise:

• Minimum:
• 3 years' experience in an information management environment.
• At least 1-year experience working with ITS/ERP Student Module.
• 1-year experience with One Drive and Share Point.
• Advanced relational databases and operating systems expertise.
• Strong Excel skills, including VBA.
• Ideal:
• Previous experience with ITS systems in a higher education environment.

Key Competencies:

• Technical Skills:
• Proven background in IT.
• Advanced Excel (VBA), Share Point, One Drive, and ERP systems.
• Knowledge:
• In-depth understanding of the Higher Education Sector.
• Sound knowledge of business systems, financial aid policies, and practices.
• Understanding of database management and reporting tools.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong communication and customer service orientation.
• Ability to lead change management initiatives.
• High level of organizational agility and judgment.
