Senior Civil Tailings Engineer (Sandton or Namibia)

Knight Piésold Southern Africa is looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to join their dynamic team in Sandton or Namibia.
Minimum Requirements:

BSc/BEng or BTech Civil Engineer with 6 years experience in mine waste services.
Pr Eng or Pr Tech would be an advantage.
Previous experience in design, building, and maintenance of Tailings Storage.
Proven track record of bringing projects in on time, within budget, and to the client’s satisfaction.
Strong ability to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously delivering design services on time and within budget.
Strong technical ability in tailings management, geotechnics, heap leaching, and water management.
Ability to review reports and carry out audits.
Ability to manage people, and technical teams and mentor junior staff.
Competent report and proposal writing skills requiring strong English language skills (verbal and written).

Key Responsibilities:

Review, design, construction, and remediation of tailings structures at all stages of the projects. This includes pre-feasibility, feasibility, detailed design, construction, and operational stages.
Undertaking desk-based studies utilising data and information from a variety of sources.
Undertaking due diligence reviews.
Undertaking scoping and pre-feasibility studies.
Design and supervision of waste facilities.
Project management and coordination.
Report and proposal writing.
Mentorship of employees.
Occasional travel to sites.
