RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise production staff and enforce BASF's rules and regulations.
• Conduct in-process testing and final QC testing; issue COAs in the absence of the QC Technician.
• Assign and reorganize tasks to meet urgent customer demands.
• Communicate daily with internal teams to meet production targets.
• Foster effective communication and strong working relationships.
• Maintain discipline to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
• Report equipment malfunctions and unsafe conditions to the Production Manager promptly.
• Monitor bulk storage tanks to prevent stockouts.
• Ensure compliance with housekeeping and safety standards as per the OHS Act and EHSQ Policy.
• Conduct safety awareness talks and plant walkabouts.
• Manage the Quality Management System and ensure first-time conformance to specifications.
• Document shift handovers clearly and accurately.
• Efficiently manage inventory to minimize losses.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
• Supervisory skills
• NQF level 3 Chemical Operations Learnership or greater
• Minimum 3 years of working experience and understanding of plant production processes, including technical aspects of the products being produced
• Computer literate with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
