Spray Painter – Petrochemical Industry

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform spray painting and coating of equipment, pipelines, and infrastructure within petrochemical plants.
- Ensure all painting tasks are completed according to industry safety standards and company policies.
- Prepare surfaces by sandblasting, cleaning, and applying primers as required.
- Work closely with other maintenance and operations teams to minimize disruptions during painting operations.
- Maintain and clean spray equipment and tools, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Follow precise guidelines for thickness and application of paint to ensure long-lasting durability, especially in corrosive environments.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental protocols, particularly in a petrochemical environment with potential hazardous materials.
- Assist with other general maintenance duties when required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience as a spray painter in a petrochemical or industrial setting.
- Previous experience in the petrochemical industry is essential.
- Proven knowledge of spray painting techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications for surface preparation and paint applications.
- Strong understanding of corrosion protection and the application of coatings in industrial environments.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, especially working with hazardous materials and in high-risk environments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy in painting jobs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to work in confined spaces or at heights if required.
- Must be based in Cape Town or willing to relocate for the duration of the contract.
- Willingness to work overtime, shifts, and weekends if required.
- Valid driver’s license will be advantageous.
Negotiable, based on experience and qualifications.
