This opportunity resides with Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Summary

This is an UNPAID internship through the Do D Skill Bridge Program for transitioning active-duty US military personnel. Do D Skill Bridge Internships are available to help transitioning active-duty military personnel gain real-world experience in the work force sometime during their final 180 days of active-duty service. The intern will actively train on meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior company leadership. HII Mission Technologies Internship programs are focused on placing transitioning military into internships that require KSAs, Education & Military Training similar to their current or previous military jobs; positions that could easily transition over to a full-time regular and permanent job with HII.

The Skillbridge intern will train as an SST (Personnel/Physical Security) SME within HII Mission Technologies (USFK J2 JIOC-K), reporting to Senior Program Manager, with the goal of learning the fundamentals, mission operations, and advanced TTPs of Special Security (Personnel/Physical Security). The intern will be assigned special projects as needed.

Desired End State (3-4 month target)
At the end of two months, the intern will develop a good understanding of all Special Security (Personnel/Physical Security) management operations, duties, responsibilities, and functions, and if time and mission requirements permitting, receive additional training (operational experience) in the following functional areas:

Intelligence Management Specialist (Admin)
All-Source Analyst (US/Combined I&W)
Warning Analyst (ISR/Production Support)
HII Mission Technologies will benefit from the military background of the Skillbridge intern and considers the Skillbridge internship an overall positive experience.

Assumptions/Restrictions

No travel requirements.
Skillbridge Intern will possess at minimum an active TS//SI clearance and in-scope CI polygraph.
Skillbridge Intern will be available during core hours for critical meetings and training.

Program of Instruction

Training Location: Camp Humphreys, South Korea (Pyeongtaek, ROK)

Training Plan
Week 1:

HII Onboarding – Establish Network Accounts, Initial In-briefs, company integration
JIOC-K Onboarding – Establish Network Accounts, Initial In-briefs, JIOC-K integration
Introduction to supported customer mission areas

Week 2-8:

Work in USFK J2 Special Security Office (SSO) learning Special Security (Personnel/Physical Security) methodologies; tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP), and standard operating procedures (SOP)

Week 9-10:

Work in USFK J2 Front Office and Division Offices gaining operational experience as Intelligence Management Specialist (Admin)
Work in USFK J23 gaining experience as All-Source Analyst (US/Combined I&W)
Work in USFK J26 gaining experience as Warning Analyst (ISR/Production Support)

Last Day of Internship:

Review, assessment, and final interview

Additional Goals

Facilitate networking with JIOC-K personnel.
Introduction to JIOC-K missions and operations.

Minimum Qualifications

Active-Duty Military ONLY within final 180 days of active-duty service. Applications accepted for transitioning active-duty military within their final 12 months of service. Education and Experience dependent on Program of Instruction.

SIA 3 LCAT requirements for Special Security Technician (SST) (Personnel/Physical Security) Junior
- Desired Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience conducting analysis relevant to specific LCAT, with at least portion of experience within last 2 years.
- Desired Education: Bachelor’s degree in area related to LCAT from college or university accredited by agency recognized by U.S. Dept of Education. Additional 4 years of experience in specific LCAT, for total of 7 years of experience in specific LCAT, may be substituted for Bachelor’s degree.
