Tasks and responsibilities:
1. We are interested in someone who is passionate, self-motivated, and has a strong desire to research, learn and grow as a GIS professional; someone who can appropriately apply technology to solve problems and provide services to our clients.
2. Participation in innovation projects, creation of experiences, representation of realistic cities, etc…
3. Utilize geoprocessing, spatial analysis and 3D analysis to perform project GIS tasks.
4. Knowledge on gathering, treating, georeferencing, digitizing, and geoprocessing, analyzing and interpreting both internal data (relational databases, Excels, geodatabases, etc) or external data (APIs, WMS, etc..) in all different formats (SHP, geo JSON, JSON XML, KML/KMZ/GML…) for use in maps or reports.
5. Assists with analysis, research, design, and implementation of all mapping tools, templates, standards, and software as well as creates a knowledge base of standard templates and techniques.
6. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
7. Rigorously detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
8. Development of projects based on the high-level design provided by the business or the functional analysts of the department.
9. Support and resolution of incidents. Attention to the user and support in the management of the change.
10. Detect inefficiencies, optimize processes and propose improvements in existing systems, applications and procedures. Continuous improvement.
Skills/background:
-
Bachelor's degree in GIS related technology or any kind of engineering and architecture (geographers, urban planners, civil engineer, etc...)
- No previous experience required. (But will be a plus)
- High level of English, both written and spoken
- Basic knowledge on GIS tools like QGIS, Arc GIS, …
- Basic knowledge on Urban Planning and cadaster.
- Different GIS data formats: .SHP, .geo JSON, .KML/KMZ/GML, etc..
- Basic knowledge of SQL (Postgre SQL)
- Knowledge of ETL processes, Python, Databases, APIs, will be a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
