The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The role

We are hiring an excellent postdoctoral professional who will play a relevant role in computational at the lab. This is one of two computational genomics positions currently advertised by the group. This position is intended to develop a project that uses statistical analysis of single cell epigenomic data to understand the role of noncoding variants underlying disease.

About the lab

The Regulatory Genomics and Diabetes lab aims to uncover genetic mechanisms causing diabetes mellitus, and to develop translational applications. The group is particularly interested in understanding how genomic information is used to program gene expression in the developing and adult pancreatic beta cells, as well as in identifying regulatory defects underlying disease.

It is a highly multidisciplinary team, with expertise in the analysis of mutant stem cell-derived beta cell organoids and mice, single cell epigenomics, genetic screening, statistical genetics and integrative analyses. It is funded by European Research Council, the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, the Generalitat de Catalunya CERCA program, an AXA chair, European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes, the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions program, and the CIBERDEM diabetes network.

Professional experience

Must Have

You have at least two years of experience in the statistical analysis of single cell epigenomics data

Education and training

A Ph D in mathematics or statistics

Languages

You are fluent in English

Competences

Highly developed organizational skills

You have dedication, motivation, and rigor in scientific pursuits

You have ability to pay attention to detail and work both in a team and indepentdently in a multidisciplinary environment

The Offer – Working Conditions

Contract duration: Technical and scientific activities, estimated 1 year

Estimated annual gross salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with our pay scales.
